First Solar chose Vietnam as a destination for US$ 1 billion solar manufacturing project.

First Solar Technology Group, the US-based world largest maker of thin-film solar panels, was granted an investment license for its US$ 1 billion project to build a factory in Ho Chi Minh City on Jan 21, 2011. This is the biggest foreign-invested project in the high-tech sector to be launched in HCM City in 2010.

The factory will be built in Dong Nam Industrial Zone in Cu Chi District and is expected to be operational by the middle of next year.

When fully functional, the facility will produce thin-film photovoltaic power modules with total power capacity of up to 1,080 MW (1.080 GW) and will contribute more than 35% of the manufacturing capacity of First Solar Technology Group worldwide (expected at 2.7GW of energy a year including the Cu Chi plant).

To ensure the project meets schedule and budget requirement, M+W Group Vietnam – one of the contractors of the project – uses Primavera P6 (provided by KPMS) to manage the project.

• Web Application Server (Oracle Application Server, Oracle (BEA) Weblogic, Tomcat, Jetty, JBOSS).

• Oracle database and Microsoft SQL.

• Windows Servers family (Active Directory, LDAP, etc…).

Good knowledge of database programming language (stored procedures, triggers, etc…). Good skills in presentation/training software application are highly considered. Good skill in preparing and writing technical documents is desirable. Additional requirements (optional but are advantages to be considered):

• Experienced in software programming (Java, Web Application development).
• Knowledge in Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK, PMI ©).
• Past software implementation projects experience.
• Be able to travel over night, all around Vietnam, and oversea.
• Good knowledge in Primavera P6 Project Management, and/or Microsoft Project.
